The Centre is a not-for-profit organization registered under Nigerian law in January 2020. We are dedicated to advancing ocean literacy and promoting integration across the ECOWAS region, with a strong emphasis on the sustainable development of the blue economy. We are proud to maintain observer status with the International Seabed Authority under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the Centre is listed in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs’ Civil Society Database the Centre’s SDG initiative has been published here.
Our international presence enables us to create platforms for dialogue, capacity-building, and policy innovation in West Africa. We host a variety of engaging events—webinars, in-person summits, and hybrid dialogues—that convene key stakeholders, experts, and thought leaders from across the region.
